Casting Glass 9 Steps (with Pictures)Instructables
As a glassblower I know a thing or two about glass and I would definitely have to say it was devitrification that made the glass crystalline. Because it was in such small molds with negligible convection the glass would quickly become crystalline. I would recommend let the glass flow into the mold for about 3-4 hrs and then ramp down at 100f/hr.

Jan 01 2018 · Following a short drying time the mold is opened and the green part can be taken out of the mold for further drying and subsequent sintering. Instead of plaster molds porous polymers can also be used for increased mold life cycles and for applying vacuum or pressure for accelerated layer growth. The latter is known as pressure slip casting.
Get PricePressing And Sintering Of Powder Parts
Powder Sintering . Powder sintering involves raising the temperature of the green compact (pressed powder part) to a certain level and keeping it at that temperature for a certain amount of time. The sintering temperature is usually between 70 and 90 of the melting point of the powder metal. This will cause bonding mechanisms to occur between powder particles pressed together in the compact.

sintering does not require applying pressure to the part during the sintering or cooling stages and therefore does not require handling hot molds. These methods provide an alternative to injection molding for producing heavy walled parts (not possible by injection molding) and for reducing tooling costs for smaller production quantities.
